Hi Adam,

I know you may or may not be monitoring this blog, but I just have to say something to you. Like you I was a combat infantryman, 36 years ago in Vietnam. An E-5 Buck Sgt, in a recon platoon in the 1st Cav. When you talked about the LZ and how you felt when you met your friend and had to leave....many of us have experienced that exact set of emotions, in those exact same circumstances. You know, as I, that we are all brothers, but there are "special" (though you won't really admit it to anyone) people that you really care about, and think about. My heart is broken about Iraq, not because I don't think we should be there (that is for history to show us) but because very good young men and women have to die. We don't want it to happen, but we know it will. Take care of yourself, and always remember: "For those that have fought for it, life has a flavor the protected will never know".
